Uganda Targets Italian Market for International Tourists
With the aim to increase the traffic of European tourists, Uganda has launched a transit advertising campaign in Italy aimed to boost international tourism and broaden its global presence.
The initiative, led by Ambassador Elizabeth Paula Napeyok, aligns with the country’s broader Tenfold Growth Strategy described as an ambitious national blueprint to expand Uganda’s economy from 50 billion USD to $500 billion by the year 2040.
Tourism is identified as a key driver of this economic growth. The government is placing strong emphasis on increasing foreign exchange earnings and tempting private sector investments into the industry.
With this started campaign, the transit advertisements will circulate through major routes in Rome, traversing the cities and iconic landmarks such as the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. It is mainly spread by use of printed stickers installed on the buses and coaches that offer public transport within the beautiful cities of Italy.
The campaign is targeted to reach over 10 million people, positioning Uganda directly before a global audience of interested and potential travelers. This is a vital step aimed to increase the number of passengers arriving at Entebbe Airport.
This will see multiple Italian tourists come in for tailor-made wildlife safaris, charity works, investors, road trippers who need to rent a car at Entebbe Airport for self-drive adventure and a lot more.
